Foundations of Nutrition: A Guide To Overcoming Inflammation And Chronic Disease
Most nutrition and health books are long, dense, highly technical and hard to follow, niched and honed in on a specific subcategory, and written by people in-industry often resulting in bias or conflicts of interest. The purpose of this book is to be the opposite of all those things; short, concise, in layman’s terms without heavy scientific jargon, written by someone with no bias or conflict of interest. In addition, a loose 80/20 framework is applied - this book covers the main heavy-hitting topics that drive the most impact to one's health.
Chronic diseases are the leading cause of death globally, with most fully curable through diet alone. This book exists because there is a severe lack of awareness and knowledge of what most people are consuming on a regular basis. Every time I go grocery shopping, I’m saddened by what I see in people’s grocery carts. They are slowly killing themselves with the amount of synthetic chemicals in the ultra-processed foods they buy for their families. The basics covered in this book need to be more commonly known to turn the current chronic disease epidemic around.
With recommendations from each chapter, this book is intended to be both informative and practical by serving as a guide. What foods to consume and which to avoid, when to consume, and other lifestyle habits that play a significant role in one’s overall health are just some of the topics covered here.
Expect to learn why gluten-free may not just be a trendy fad, how most grocery store items are causing chronic diseases, why the inputs to our food systems are important, how we can not only avoid inflammation and chronic disease but reverse it, and much more.
